Head of Hydrus:
81 million years ago, Head of Hydrus or Alpha Hydri was formed in the southern hemisphere of the Little Watershed. About 80909200 years later, baroque guitarists in Spain began to play on their Vihuelas with bows, inspired by the arabic instrument Rabab. Vihuelan developed and became a new instrument; Viola da Gamba, one of the renaissance and baroque’s most popular instruments. Probably, both Peter Plancius and Jodocius Hondius, who in 1597 published the first star atlas in which Head of Hydrus was mentioned, were both familiar with the Viola da Gamba. What they probably did not know was that in the end of the 20th century two music cosmologists were to be born, who, with inspiration from the light of Head of Hydrus, would create new music for two Viola da gambas. Head of Hydrus features Nicole Hogstrand and Adam Grauman.
Danish supergroup Boujeloud is back with brand new music! Known for their fierce live performances and their expressive and personal sound, the trio is now back on the stage with new songs, danceable beats, and curious backwards guitar riffs. Their are currently recording their follow-up album to the critically acclaimed CANDY PRINCE from 2016, which won a Danish Music Award Jazz. Expect an otherworldly freshness and a night to remember.
Generously supported by Statens Kunstfond and Bispebjerg Lokaludvalg
